Spitfire Ground Tours

Kent Cricket are pleased to announce that a comprehensive schedule of ground tours has been arranged for spectators at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury during the 2026 season.

You will hear about the history of the ground, visit parts that other spectators cannot always reach, and learn about the people, events and trees that have made our home so famous and well-loved since its first match in 1847.

Our knowledgeable guides include Kent Cricket Heritage Trust Chair Jo Rice and the club’s Heritage Officer, Ian Phipps along with experienced volunteers Sam Hurn and Steve Tindall.

Tours are conducted during the lunch interval on the second day of County Championship fixtures, between innings of Metro Bank One Day Cup games and between matches on “double-header” days.

Proceeds of tours will help the Kent Cricket Heritage Trust in their efforts to promote the history of Kent Cricket and manage the club’s extensive archives.

Each Tour will take groups of 12 people and takes in the whole Ground and its many landmarks. Stops will also be made to the Club Shop and Oriole at Lime Tree Café for refreshments.

We cannot arrange tours on T20 Blast days. Otherwise we can manage most dates during the summer. If you choose a date on which there is no game, we may well be allowed to show you the players' dressing rooms, which is an added attraction for those with a poor sense of smell!
